Porting Types

The different number porting options available when bringing an existing number to SIPcity.

VoIP supports number porting, which lets you bring your current telephone number(s) to the SIPcity VoIP network. Australia supports three types of ports.

Port types

  • Simple Port: A single number that can generally be completed within seven working days, provided the number is not part of an ISDN group or larger block.

  • Complex Port: Multiple numbers. Complex ports typically take six weeks to process.

  • Special Ports: Completed within 6–8 business days.
