Do I need an IVR to use the AI Voice Agent?

No. The AI Voice Agent replaces the need for a traditional IVR or Auto Attendant — it answers calls, understands what the caller wants, and routes or resolves the call without menus or button-pressing. That said, if you already have an IVR set up, the Agent can sit alongside it or be added to specific menu options.

The AI Voice Agent is charged at 50 cents per minute of active conversation, in addition to your monthly SIPcity plan. Call transfers aren’t charged at the same rate — the only exception is when a call is transferred from one AI Agent to another, in which case the per-minute rate applies to the receiving Agent as well. Setup fees and monthly charges for special numbers (such as 1300 or 1800 numbers) aren’t included and apply separately where relevant. There are no setup costs for the AI Voice Agent itself and no minimum number of Agents.

Yes. All calls, transcripts, and uploaded knowledge documents stay on Australian servers. Nothing is shared with public AI platforms, and your data never leaves the country.

The AI Voice Agent is available on the Cloud Connect and Connect Plus plans. If you’re on a different plan, you can upgrade at any time to enable it — get in touch with our team and we’ll help you switch over.

PDFs, Word documents, and plain text files are supported. You can upload FAQs, pricing sheets, policies, service information, or anything else your Agent should know. The Agent uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to search this content in real time, so updates take effect immediately.

Yes. The Agent can hand off to a specific team member, a department, another AI Agent, or a queue — on the phone or on your website. You decide the rules.

Yes. The AI Voice Agent integrates with your existing SIPcity number, phone system, CRM, and booking tools. No new hardware required.

The AI Voice Agent supports Australian, American, and British English, as well as French, Italian, Hindi, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish. Each Agent operates in a single language and can’t switch on the fly — to support callers in multiple languages, you set up a separate Agent for each one and configure transfers between them, so callers can be routed to an Agent in their preferred language.
