Grandstream GXW gateways don’t natively support zero-touch provisioning, but SIPcity can easily configure them remotely to connect to our service.
Pre-configuration and setup
Before the gateway is shipped, we pre-configure basic IP routing so it can come online.
Installation and remote configuration
- Unbox the gateway and connect the WAN port to your internet. The WAN lamp will light to confirm connectivity.
- Once the gateway is online, we will remotely access it to complete the full configuration (approximately 15 minutes).
- The GXW is set by default to use 9 as the outbound dial prefix. You can change this to any digit except 1, which the gateway reserves for inbound calls.
- Connect the T1 crossover cable between the gateway’s E1/T1 port and your PBX’s T1 port. The front panel lamp will turn green when the T1 connection is confirmed.
- We will test inbound and outbound calling to ensure everything is working correctly.
The entire setup process takes approximately 15 minutes from start to finish.
