Grandstream GXW 450x

Configure the Grandstream GXW 450x gateway for use with SIPcity.

Grandstream GXW gateways don’t natively support zero-touch provisioning, but SIPcity can easily configure them remotely to connect to our service.

Pre-configuration and setup

Before the gateway is shipped, we pre-configure basic IP routing so it can come online.

Installation and remote configuration

  1. Unbox the gateway and connect the WAN port to your internet. The WAN lamp will light to confirm connectivity.
  2. Once the gateway is online, we will remotely access it to complete the full configuration (approximately 15 minutes).
  3. The GXW is set by default to use 9 as the outbound dial prefix. You can change this to any digit except 1, which the gateway reserves for inbound calls.
  4. Connect the T1 crossover cable between the gateway’s E1/T1 port and your PBX’s T1 port. The front panel lamp will turn green when the T1 connection is confirmed.
  5. We will test inbound and outbound calling to ensure everything is working correctly.

The entire setup process takes approximately 15 minutes from start to finish.
